POWER PLANT OPERATION
PT Megapower Makmur (MPOW), a subsidiary of Bina Puri
Holdings Bhd (BPHB) was established in 2007, operates hydroelectricity and
diesel plants in Indonesia. It started commercial operation in 2010, when it
obtained contract from Indonesia state-owned electricity company, Perusahaan
Listrik Negara, PLN in Pulau Bangka Belitung, Indonesia.
Currently
MPOW is operating eight (4) diesel-generated power plants with
capacity of 2,000KW/h per plant or 54 Megawatts/ day for the use of
household and industrial sectors mainly in the islands of Sumatera and throughout Indonesia which includes, PLTD Toboali,
PLTD Toboali II, PLTD Mentok in Kepulauan Bangka Belitung; as well as PLTD
Bengkalis in Kepulauan Riau.
Beside
micro diesel-generated power plant, starting from June 2016, MPOW is also
operating a 4.2MW Mini Hydro Plant in Sungai Bialo, Desa
Pattaneteang, Kabupaten Bantaeng, Sulawesi Selatan. PLTM Banteng-1 mini-hydro
power plant is a "Run-off River" type of power generation plant. The length
of this green renewable energy power plant is about 1.7 KM from weir to its
power house location.
The Power
Purchase Agreement (PPA) tenure is for 15 years and the contracted annual
output of electricity produced is approximately 23,913GW/h.
The Group
achieved its latest milestone when MPOW, an Independent electricity
producer made its debut on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) on 4th June
2017 making the First Non-Government Link Company (Malaysia,
GLC) being successfully listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX),
Bursa Efek Indonesia with Bina
Puri having 51% stake in MPOW. The Market Capitalization value is currently at RM14 million.
SOLAR PLANT OPERATION (LSSPV-2)
Another
subsidiary, BP Energy Sdn Bhd (BPESB) have recently signed the Power
Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Sabah Energy Sdn Bhd (SESB) for the
Development of Large Scale Solar Photovoltaic Plant (LSSPV-2), in Kunak, Sabah
with capacity of 5.00MW a.c. The PPA was
executed on 1 December 2021 and the project has been kicked off in January
2022.
